Sony has launched a whole range of Xperia phones across different segments. Xperia L, SP and Z are the newest members to be added to this club. Unlike Xperia SP, Xperia L is going to be priced in the medium price range segment.
Most of the Xperia members have somewhat of a similar design. The new phones retain the power button on their side, which is becoming a signature of the new Xperia series. The new phone is expected to hit the markets in 2013 second quarter. Let us find out how the Xperia L figures when we take a closer look.
Xperia L will be replacing Xperia J that was launched in IFA 2012. The dimensions of the phone are pegged at 128.7 x 65 x 9.7mm. The phone is available in three colors – Black, Red and White.
It has multi-touch facility up to 4 fingers and a 228 pixel per inch density. Like some other models in this price range, Xperia L is going to be available with scratch resistant protective glass. The display has about seven homescreens. Transfer from one screen to another is smooth.
The graphic in the phone is powered by Adreno 305 graphics processor. The stats do not impress much. Given the price range in which it is going to be available, there are other phones with better options.
A secondary camera VGA is available for video calling. The 8MP is the biggest attraction on this phone. There is a dedicated camera key on the side of the phone that will help users with easy access to capturing moments whenever they feel like.
The phone has been recognized with elongated lag time and slow application processing. However, they are not a total turn-off and it can be worked around this issue.
