It has been quite some time, since LG has had a new release. With Samsung, HTC and Apple fighting over the high-end smart phone segment and Nokia and Blackberry trying to make a comeback, LG dropped in the background. LG is supposed to make a comeback to the scene in the 2013 Q2 with its new release. The new release will extend the LG Optimus series and is called the LG Optimus G Pro. It will be a step up from the LG Optimus G phone that was released in the last October.
The smart phone is to be released in the high-end smart phone segment and will be LG's first big release since October 2012. The phone is really nice, except for a few disadvantages. Keep reading for more details.
The phone weighs approximately 160g and measure 139 X 70 X 10mm. Though it might weigh a bit more than its contemporaries, it should not be a turn off. The phone looks slim and has a very nice design with LG Optimus G Pro label embedded on to its back cover.
LG Optimus G Pro is available in Black. The back cover though is available in interchangeable colors of black and white. The phone has a 5.5" long display with True HD IPS and capacitive touch screen LCD. The screen exudes beautiful contrast and resolution thanks to the 401 pixels per inch density.
The Optimus G Pro is packed with superlative stuff under the covers. It supports Android v4.1 Jelly Bean and is powered by a Quad-core 1.7 GHz Krait processor along with the Qualcomm MDM9615 chipset. The graphics in the phone is ably and handsomely supported by Adreno 320 GPU.
LG fitted the phone with a 2 GB RAM. The phone has a well endowed internal memory of 32 GB. But the downside to this fruity deal is that there is no external memory card slot. As shocking as this may come, 32 GB of internal memory should still be able to manage well.
The phone has a very nice 13MP autofocus camera. It is supported with LED flash. Videos can be recorded at an above average 1080p@30frames per second.
A secondary camera is available as well to help with video chatting options.
The connectivity options come aplenty with this set. Apart from the regular GPRS and EDGE, it also has Wi-Fi Direct and Wi-Fi hotspot options. The Wi-Fi hotspot option is really helpful since you can always connect your computer and use the phone’s internet.
An interesting feature of this phone in terms of connectivity is that it supports 4G network and comes LTE supported. The 4G connection coupled with the hotspot option ensures fast, wireless internet connection for all computers, laptops or tablet at your home or office. Bluetooth comes available in v4.0 with A2DP. Near Field Communication, otherwise known as NFC is available as well.
Now LG Optimus G Pro Staring price is approximate $703.789.
An interesting addition to this set is the Dolby mobile sound enhancement. It would be nice to see how well this phone lives up to its expectations.
